About this Site
|
Rich Hooper created and maintains this web site.
That's me. I'm the one that's not the robot. I am a professional
engineer (PE), have a couple of degrees in engineering, a PhD in robotics
and have been working on robots for over twenty years. Sometimes
I get paid to be a robotics consultant, sometimes I do it just for fun. |
This is a place where you can learn about robots
and robotics engineering. If you are interested
in robotics and are old enough to read, you should enjoy the
information on this site. In most cases I give just a small
description of each individual robot or application. I encourage you to conduct
your own research on any robots you find interesting. The internet is
usually a good place to start for that. If you are not a big fan of
geometry or trigonometry you will probably find the material on
kinematics tedious.
Please note that there is a lot of commentary on
this site. Rich Hooper provides that commentary. I am both an engineer and a
consultant. The consultant part of me expresses opinions. These are my opinions and not
necessarily those of anyone else. If you have a differing opinion, and want to
email it to Rich
Hooper, please go ahead. If you are polite and logical I will probably post
what you send.
Most of all, I want this site to grow. Please
feel free to send in
anything you would like - pictures of robots, projects, commentary or
whatever. If it will help people learn about robots, I'll try to
find a place for it on this site.
